Next is the 7.5 tonne range for small to medium removals, due to legal weight restrictions any 7.5 tonne vehicle can only carry approx. 3 tones of effects, equivalent to an average 2 bed house / flat contents.

Now we come to the 18 tonne range of vehicles, the choice for all professional removal companies operating in the UK. This is because with a payload in excess of 9 tones and a volume of 2500 cubic feet contained in their 40ft length they can carry removals from a single item to all but the largest of moves without worrying about overloading and the consequences that this can bring.

Local house removal

Local removals, although short on distance, still need undertaking with all the care and attention a professional removal company can offer. At Goodwins all of our staff have been with the company for more than ten years and are all trained to British Association of Removers standards so that you cannot place your furniture in safer hands.

Firstly a removal surveyor will visit your property to complete the pre-move survey. This will allow us to allocate the correct size and weight capacity vehicle, staff, packing materials if needed and to calculate the time needed for the house removal. You will receive a written quotation in the post. If this is acceptable then we will arrange dates and times to commence the move. Our qualified professional staff will then complete your removal as efficiently as possible, making for a stress free move.

All of our vehicles are kitted outwith a full set of loading ramps (multiple loading positions available) barrows and sack trucks, piano trolleys, ties and straps, removal blankets and portable wardrobes. In addition each vehicle as standard has a set of strongwrap furniture covers.

National house removals

A National house removal is classed as a removal within the mainland United Kingdom.

A National removal is conducted in exactly the same way as any other removal Goodwins undertakes. We utilise our own full time staff who are all time served professionals trained to British Association of Removals standards. Due to the weight of modern furniture we mainly use 18 tonne vehicles for your removal, saving the smaller 7.5 tonners for smaller removals (1-2 bed houses etc) or where access may be restricted. We will undertake the removal to your specifications whether you want to do your own packing or let our professional staff do it for you. All of your furniture will be handled by professionals with all the care and respect that you would expect to ensure that it arrives at your new home exactly as it left the old one.

European House removal

A European house removal can be either from or to the UK from any European Country. We offer the options of full load, door to door service or as a part load. We can also offer a part load service using our British Association partners if we do not have a vehicle schedule that matches your delivery dates, meaning Goodwins can always get your effects delivered on time.
